Our history

15o years old and growing young!

Fruitport Congregational Church was one of the first churches in the village of Fruitport and continues to be a Christian influence in the community. We strive to love and serve our neighbors for the glory of God and the good of our community. Over the years we have seen great growth in West Michigan and have sought be a church that ministers to every family without hesitation. We seek to be gracious, non-judgmental and welcoming to all. We love Jesus and want Him to be front and center to all we are and do. We are not affiliated with any denomination but are evangelical and follow a congregational church heritage.

Knowing God

begins by FAith

Everyone needs to experience the love of God. Millenia ago humanity was separated from our Creator through an act of disobedience. We can be reconciled to Him through our belief in His one and only son Jesus. He came into this world to rescue us and restore that which was broken. Trusting Him as Savior is the remedy for our hopeless condition.

Growing in Christ

Nurtured by the Bible

The Bible is the most unique book ever written. It reveals the character and work of Christ on the cross. We are passionate to know more about Him and his purpose for us in this life. The Bible is not just a good book, it is the source of godly wisdom that empowers and transforms us to serve the One who has rescued us.

Showing Christ

displayed intensionally

We believe that the Jesus rescued us from the awful ravages of sin and has commissioned us to be instruments of His grace in this broken world. As His followers we are dedicated to being His hands and feet. We wish to demonstrate the goodness of God through our lives and hopefully win the opportunity to share the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Pastor

Terry Turner

Pastor Terry has been our Pastor since January 2020. He is a graduate of Tennessee Temple University, class of 1977. He and his wife Susan have been married 45 years. They have 4 adult children and 7 grandchildren. He and Sue went straight into full-time Christian service in the country of England where they served with a Christian youth organization for 9 years. All of their children were born in England. When they returned to the USA, Terry began pastoring churches in Michigan which he has done for over 30 years. He is gifted in leadership, teaching and shepherding and we are pleased to have him as our pastor.
